Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek

Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek

Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek – In the western Andes mountain range is the most important road system built by the Incas in the territory of Tahuantinsuyo. Originally called Capac Ñan, literally Great Inca Road, the Inca road system linked together about 40,000 km of roadway and provided access to over three million km² of territory.

Most of this architectural prowess was destroyed by the Spanish after the conquest. The Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek is a three or four-days hike following the thirty-kilometres stretch of the route.

The Inca Trail, that once linked Cuzco (Inca capital) with Tomebamba (actual Cuenca) and Quito, starts from Achupallas and reachs the castle Ingapirca in the province of Cañar. Along the way, you will observe the imposing tambos (Incan structures), canals and water management systems, but also breathtaking paramo landscapes and lagoons located at the top of the range.

But one of the most important thing, you will hike on the way the Incas used in the conquest of their Empire. Come and live this amazing Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek

The Ingapirca Archaeological Site is made up of a temple, which is known as the Temple of the Sun, storage chambers, observatories and roads, each with it own purpose. The temple is a very fascinating part of the complex and is located in the center of the archeological site.

It was built during the Inca expansion into Ecuador at the end of the 15th century on a site that had been occupied by the Cañari people for 500 years. Inca Trail Ecuador Famous Trek
